What You Bring

• 5–7 years of progressive HR generalist or HR management experience, ideally in forestry, natural resources, manufacturing, or another industrial/field-operations setting.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; CPHR designation (or working toward one) is an asset.
• Solid working knowledge of Nova Scotia employment legislation, including the Labour Standards Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Comfort working both in an office setting and on-site at mills or in the field — this role requires regular travel within Nova Scotia.
• Experience supporting a unionized or seasonal workforce is an asset, though not required.
• Strong judgment and discretion handling confidential employee matters, with a practical, relationship-first approach to HR.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with frontline crews, site supervisors, and senior leadership alike.
• Proficiency with HRIS and standard office software; experience with payroll systems is an asset.
• Valid driver's licence, as travel to operational sites is a regular part of this role.
